Dr Khuthadzo Mudzanani, PR Eng. (ECSA), is a research and development engineer at Mintek, currently serving as the Chair of the Mintek SCI Conference. With a PhD in Chemical Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer, she leads several multidisciplinary research projects in process engineering, instrumentation development, and sustainability within the minerals and metallurgical sector.
Her leadership of the Mintek SCI Conference is grounded in her belief in the power of collaboration, visibility, and creating opportunities for emerging voices in science. As a young researcher, she has experienced firsthand how the simple act of showing up, speaking to the right person, or asking a bold question at a conference can open doors that shape one’s entire career. She believes that most of the opportunities she has today started with someone she met while she was willing to learn, share, and connect. Khuthadzo is passionate about encouraging graduates, interns, and early-career scientists to make the most of where they are. She reminds young professionals that every person you meet matters, whether it’s a peer, a senior researcher, a CEO or someone working behind the scenes.
