Mintek to participate in the SA Innovation Week
Mintek will participate in the upcoming SA Innovation Week 2026 (SAIW’26) held on 18-19 March 2026 at Nasrec in Gauteng, where we will showcase our cutting-edge technologies and solutions driving progress in the minerals and metallurgical sector.
SA Innovation Week is well-known for bringing together leading thinkers, innovators, policymakers, and industry leaders who are shaping the future of innovation in South Africa and beyond. With a legacy spanning over 90 years, Mintek has consistently been at the forefront of delivering tangible advancements to enhance mineral recovery while reducing reagent consumption and energy usage.
As part of the exhibition, Mintek’s Measurement and Control Division will demonstrate its advanced process systems, along with specialised instruments designed for gold leaching and mining operations.
Nathan Pillay from the division highlighted the global impact of one of Mintek’s flagship technologies:
“Cynoprobe is our flagship product, with over 400 units sold across more than 42 countries worldwide. It has enabled processing plants to improve performance and production efficiency significantly.”
On Day Two of the National Innovation Platform, Mintek specialist Dr Ndivhuwo Shumbula announced that he will also be exhibiting one of the innovations that he worked on, NanoBand™.
“NanoBand™ is a South African health innovation startup focused on developing advanced wound-care solutions. The technology aims to improve chronic wound management through the use of innovative materials and user-centred design, addressing critical healthcare challenges with practical, scalable solutions,” he said.
