Dr Mulaudzi elected Chairperson of Academic Advisory...
Dr Marandela Mulaudzi, Senior Engineer in the Advanced Materials Division has been elected as Chairperson of the Academic Advisory Board Committee in the Department of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).
In his role as Chairperson, Dr Mulaudzi will lead the Committee in advising the department to achieve its targets on academic administration and enrolment management, programs structure, work integrated learning (WIL), partnerships and industrial relations, research and staff development, and technology development.
Dr Mulaudzi has been a member of the TUT Advisory Board Committee since May 2019. This role is expected to strengthen collaborations between Mintek and TUT on research and development.
“One of the envisaged area of collaboration is the high entropy alloys and powder metallurgy, in line with the Ferrous Materials Development Network (FMDN) programme, which is spearheaded by Mintek as part of the Advanced Materials Initiative (AMI) of the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI)”, he said.
Dr Mulaudzi holds a PhD in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). His main interests are in the Alloy development, Phase diagrams, High temperature corrosion, and Thermo-CalcTM. He has authored and co-authored more than 30 (thirty) publications, which were presented and published at local and international conferences, and also in the journals.
