Dr Takalani Madzivhandila is a metallurgical engineer and specialist in mining and mineral beneficiation, mineral processing, materials science and engineering, waste management, and foundry technology. He has extensive experience across academia, government, industry, and technology development, with a strong focus on industrial development, mineral beneficiation, advanced materials, and manufacturing. His professional experience includes senior management responsibilities in economic development, mining and mineral beneficiation, as well as programme management in the automotive sector, where he was involved in the development of township-based automotive hubs. He has held several leadership positions within professional and industry organisations, including serving as President and Chair of South African Institute of Foundryman and Brics Foundry Association. He has also served as a Board Chairperson of The Platinum Incubator and board member at Musina Makhado Special Economic Zone. His work has focused on advancing industrialisation, technology commercialisation, skills development, and collaboration between government, academia, industry, and other key stakeholders
